While a low voltage can cause your device to not get charged, a high voltage can cause damage to your device.
Small solar panels provide small currents, a system with one solar panel only would be rather useless. This is because you have to leave your device charging under the sun for several hours to be able to receive a decent charge. Instead one should look for a portable charger with in-built rechargeable battery. So you can leave the charger out in the sun for charging itself and later charge your phone. One should also consider is that a solar charger battery should with an on-off button if possible. Most portable solar charger battery without an on-off button do use a small amount of current by themselves and if left alone for long time can drain the battery and can cause lithium-ion/polymer batteries within themselves to get damaged irreversibly if they do not have a low battery protection circuit.
If the supplied cables are accidentally mixed up with some standards based USB cables or use those cables in your computer and between your device can cause either your mobile device or your computer to get damaged. Also, loosing the cables would be bad since you cant just get standard replacements.
If possible one should consider brand name devices for reliability and durability. Most cheap replicas apparently flawed in design and do not have the necessary reliability features for long term usage.
